New Skincare Products I'm Trying

It’s no secret that when we get in our 30’s, our skin starts to need extra TLC. I was never into skin care before but nowadays after seeing slight blemishes, dark spots etc. I knew it was time to start taking it more seriously. So I spoke with a few friends in the skin care field, and took a trip to Sephora. Here are a few of the things I am trying out:

Glow Recipe

This kit caught my attention because it came with 5 products as opposed to 3 like most other starter kits on Sephora. I have combo skin so depending on the day, I can be oily in my under eye area and dry every where else. After hearing of all the benefits of Retinol I jumped on this kit since it comes with an eye retinol sleeping mask.

Olehenriksen

I learned that I have a slight obsession with vitamin C. So the first kit that I came across with 3 products full of it, I jumped on it. Vitamin C can be tricky especially when going outside. Some women have told me that they only use vitamin C at night, while others use it during the day but you MUST use and SPF afterwards. I will try a bit of both and will see how it works.

Farmacy

This skin care brand is what I am currently obsessed with. I tried to honey hydration mask and have been hooked ever since. It made my skin feel hydrated and refreshed, it was only right to purchase the other items to try. I’m noticing that my skin likes lightweight products as opposed to thicker/heavier ones. So the green gel moisturizer is a hit for me as well. I’ll be sharing my thoughts on the other products such as the vitamin C serum and the toner in a later blog post.

Farsali

This caught my attention due to its affordability, 3 serums for $12 is a steal ! These serums are are more dedicated to beauty and can serve as a primer for makeup.

Fenty Skin

Because she came and swept the beauty world by storm, there was no way I wasn’t going to support my girl Riri. This cleanser takes off my makeup with such ease, the toner helped even out my skin and the SPF moisturizer is lightweight and serves as a great primer for makeup.

The Ordinary

The motto of this brand should be that simplicity is key and less is more. it caught my attention because of how simple the packaging was and its affordability. I’m learning that skin care can get very pricey so to see a serum for $28 was a pleasant surprise. The Buffet by The Ordinary can be used both day and night and can reduce the look of fine lines and wrinkles. It went on a bit sticky at first but it quickly seeped into my skin. This serum will definitely be a staple in my collection.

I will be slowly experimenting with these products for a few weeks without mixing too many of them and seeing what works on my skin. Stay tuned for a skin care update blog to see what I kept, what I got rid of and every thing else in between.
